Do I need a fishing license?

All our our salt water boats have licenses to cover everyone on board. Fresh water fishing yes

 When and where do we meet?

We generally will always meet at Mahogany mills boat ramp for our salt water trips. Fresh water trips could be many of different ramps depending on conditions 

What should I bring for my trip?

It’s a good idea to bring food, drinks, camera, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat. Optional fishing rod

How early should I arrive for my trip?

 10-15 minutes before the scheduled time is perfect, by this time the crew will have the bait and ice loaded and be ready to load your stuff.

Should I tip the captain or crew?

On inshore trips, captains will greatly appreciate any tips, and deckhands on offshore trips work primarily for tips. 15-20% is a customary tip for a captain or deckhand.

What if the weather forecast looks bad?

The captain will keep in touch and communicate with everyone leading up to the trip; if it’s not going to be fun there will be no trip. Gotcha Fishing Charters wants to be remembered for the fish you catch and the enjoyable time you have on the trip, not a bad experience.

Should I bring a cooler?

They will have coolers and ice on board, but it’s a good idea to have one in the car to take your fish home in. If you want to bring a small one on board that is no problem either.

Can I bring my own rod and reel?

Of course, they no problem with anyone bringing their own equipment, but it is not necessary to have any fishing equipment or tackle, they have everything!

Do Gotcha Charters allow alcohol on their fishing trips?

Of course

Is fish cleaning available? 

Yes, fish cleaning is available upon request

What should I wear?

Its best to wear some open toes shoes like flip flops or crocs. The deck will be wet and so will your  feet. Its hot in the Summer, make sure to dress for it,.

How many fish can I keep?

During Red Snapper season each angler will be allowed to keep 2 red snapper and 10 vermillion snapper.  All by catch, you catch you will keep.
